Nokia N80

Prerequisites:

1 - You must have a N80ie phone or an N80 phone with a firmware upgrade

V4.0632.0.38 or higher.

2 - You have a preconfigured wireless access point (AP) set up on your N80 phone

3 - You have an ORBTALK account - see www.orbtalk.co.uk

NB: ‘ORBTALKUSERNAME and ORBTALKPASSWORD’ refer to your own user account number and password - used to register your Orbtalk VOIP equipment.

Hit the ‘Psion’-Key and select

Tools/Settings/Connection/Sip settings

Hit ‘Options’ then ‘Add New/Default Profile’ Profile name: Orbtalk

Service profile: IETF Default access point: (Select your pre-configured WiFi Access Point)

Public Username: ORBTALKUSERNAME@talk.orbtalk.co.uk ( Remember - replace

ORBTALKUSERNAME with the username your account is registered on - Please note the phone will append ‘sip:’ to the setting)

Use Compression: no

Registration: When needed (You can select this to always - but your phone will always attempt a WiFi connection to register your Nokia -SIP phone)

Use security: no

Select ‘Proxy Server’ and complete these settings

Proxy server address: nat.orbtalk.co.uk - (Again the phone will append ‘sip:’ to the setting)

Realm: talk.orbtalk.co.uk

User name: ORBTALKUSERNAME

Password: ORBTALKPASSWORD

Allow loose routing: Yes

Transport Type: UDP

Port: 5065

Once the proxy server settings are complete - hit ‘Back’ and complete the ‘Registrar Server’ settings

Registrar serv. Addr.: talk.orbtalk.co.uk

Realm: talk.orbtalk.co.uk

User name: ORBTALKUSERNAME

Password: ORBTALKPASSWORD

Transport Type: UDP

Port: 5060

Hit ‘Back’ and ‘Back’ again and move back up to ‘Internet tel. settings’

Select ‘Options’ and then ‘New Profile’

On the ‘Select Sip URI’ prompt - select your new sip account eg. ‘ORBTALKUSERNAME@orbtalk.co.uk’

Select the name ‘Default’ and change this to something like ‘Orbtalk’

After renaming the Sip Profile to ‘Orbtalk’ - select Options and then ‘Default Profile’ - Select ‘Orbtalk’ and hit ‘OK’

Select ‘Back’ several times until you get to the main menu - select the folder ‘Internet’ - followed by the ‘Internet Tel’ icon.

This option should initiate a search for your preconfigured WiFi Access point - and on selecting this AP you should then select ‘Connect to Service’

Once connected - under this same menu - make sure your Access Point is highlighted - select Options and then ‘Settings’.

Change your ‘Preferred call type’ to ‘Internet’

Once connected you should be able to make VOIP calls via your WiFi AP.

If you are connected (highlighted by a tiny little world globe and phone icon in the top right hand side of your N80 display)- dialing numbers such as 904 (Echo Test) should append the ‘realm’ domain (orbtalk.co.uk) onto your dialing string.
